I spent ten years in Amsterdam and visited it again recently. Although it’s overcrowded with tourists, it has kept some of its easy going spirit, the laid-back way of living, even under white clouds, a thick and mysterious fog or a glorious blue sky.
On the 30th of april, the Queen of Holland greets her people from this balcony. The rest of the time, pigeons look after the Royal Palace.
